Collaborative Projects with Mexico

At UC San Diego Health, we are committed to pursuing unconventional solutions to some of our world’s most pressing issues.

Cross-Border Neuro-Oncology Program

The Cross-Border Neuro-Oncology Program brings together experts from UC San Diego Health, Rady Children’s Hospital, Mexican Secretaría de Salud, and Hospital General de Tijuana to increase access to neurosurgical services for children diagnosed with brain tumors and address disparities in pediatric oncology care.

Department of Family Medicine and Public Health

UC San Diego School of Medicine’s Department of Family Medicine and Public Health and partners at San Ysidro Health Center, La Maestra Community Health Centers, and other nonprofit organizations provide health assessments for asylum seekers entering the U.S. from Mexico.

Seguro HIV-TRACE

UC San Diego School of Medicine Division of Infectious Diseases and Global Health partners with the Mexico-U.S. Border Health Commission, Instituto de Enfermedades Respiratorias, Prevencasa A.C., and others to develop preventive interventions for HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases
including Seguro HIV-TRACE, a web application that tracks HIV transmission clusters.
